The Borough Code
is amended through the use of Borough
Ordinances. In order for an ordinance to be
adopted, the measure to enact a said ordinance
needs to be approved by Borough Council.
Thereafter, 2 readings of the formal ordinance
needs to be passed and then signed by the Mayor.
All ordinances need to be advertised to the
public.
Beginning in 2000, all ordinances were numbered
according to the following system:
YEAR-ORDINANCE NUMBER.
For example, the Dog Act of 2001 is numbered
2001-8, for the year, 2001 and #8 - the eighth
ordinance passed in the year 2001.
Note: For copies of ordinances not available on
this web site, please visit the borough office.
Borough Resolutions do not change sections of
the Borough Code and are rather simply
resolutions established by Borough Council.
These resolutions can be addressed and approved
at one regularly schedule meeting, and do not
require prior public notice. Note: You must have Adobe's
Acrobat installed on your computer to view these documents.
